Rainbow Black + White, Out 24 February 2012
Interview of Alex Newport by Justin Colletti.
This week producer Alex Newport started mixing our record in his studio in Brooklyn. And looking at the list of bands he worked with and the records he produced (At The Drive-In (In/Casino/Out and Vaya) and The Mars Volta (Tremulant), we’re very honoured he find some time in his schedule. We’re halfway now and very excited so far!
Het Haags/ Rotterdamse Organisms neemt het stokje over en laat er geen gras over groeien. De ronkende organische motor maait alles plat wat op hun pad komt. De energie druipt van de mannen af, net als het bier en zweet.

A rollercoaster ride through two decades of intelligent, raw and energetic indie rock.
Organisms are 4 guys who knew each other even before the year punk broke. They've been played in bands like Spider Rico, Incense, Feverdream, The Solo Men Only and Fine China Superbone. So it wasn't that hard to mix their individual taste and come up with some noisy rock songs. The music of Organisms of this The Hague / Rotterdam outfit is like an uptempo rollercoaster that guides you through two decades of intelligent, raw and energetic indie rock. During their intense live shows it's nopt uncommon that instruments get damaged.
The 'Hot Hands EP', released on the infamous Motorwolf Records featured 4 noisy rock songs recorded at the studio of Corno Zwetsloot. It is available on red transparent 10" vinyl.
But this was just a taste of things to come. The full-length 'Rainbow Black + White', to be released 24th February 2012 on Scene Spirit Records, was recorded in Rotterdam at the Qababaca'a Studios by Arnold van de Velde together with their friends Niels van Beers (Low Point Drains) and Mau Pinna (The Deaf).
Ambitious as they were, they asked Alex Newport (At the Drive-In, Pissed Jeans, The Melvins, Death Cab For Cutie) to mix the record. He responded enthusiastically and so the record came about. It's their best recording yet and offers a great perspective of the musical diversity of the band without losing their raw live energy.
